BIG
ISLAND MAPS: To Help You Navigate Hawaii
As
you can see from the map to the right, the Big Island of Hawaii is divided
into 5 major districts that vary in climate, vegetation and population. The
Kona District is the hottest in climate and attractions with sunshine all
year round. The Kohala District is high prarie grasslands with cowboy charm
and style as well as stunning views of the western coast. The Hamakua District
is primarily agricultural but becoming one of the most sought after areas
for property. Its mixture of unobstructable ocean views from the coastal cliffs
to deep, fertile soil and unmatched privacy the Hamakua District is our specialty.
The Hilo District is the center for the island's "Old Hawaii" charm
and the seat for all county and government works. Hilo's bayfront and local
markets as well as outstanding views also make this a area a rising star in
the real estate market. The Puna District which is by far the most expansive
and growing market in all of the islands. Puna's great rainfalls, lush vegetation
and reasonably priced plots are making this area rise at an amazing rate.
And finally, the Kau District on the Southern edges of the island. The area
here is less populous but beautiful and a great place for a vacation home
with a lanai to watch the whales go by.
